Cello is a compilation of several geometric shapes balanced on a narrow base that cantilevers from a small area attached to a stone plinth. Two quarter spheres, similar to collapsible paper Christmas decorations, protrude from the top of a curved form. Viewed from one side this appears as an ‘S’ shape, whereas the reverse side is an elongated parabola with a rectangular block jutting out from its surface. The ‘S’ shaped form has a similar shape to a saxophone and, the way it is secured to its base resembles a cello.
